Bed bugs are tiny brown insects that are less that ½-inch long. These insects don’t have wings and love to burrow in wall fissures, bedding and behind loose paint. Organic Pesticides

There are several organic pesticides that you can use to kill these insects. One of the organic pest control product you can use is Diatomaceous Earth. This product is usually available in power form and is made using fossilized algae shells. Even though diatomaceous earth powder is non-toxic to both humans and animals, you must avoid breathing in this powder. This power kills the bugs by cutting their shells when the insects walk through it. These bugs die in a few hours because the cuts in their body cause dehydration. Steam

Since these bugs die if you subject them to extreme heat, many people use steam to kill the bugs and destroy their eggs. Essential Oils

You can also use clove oil, peppermint oil, cinnamon oil, lavender oil, thyme oil and several other essential oils to kill and repel beg bugs. Even though there is no scientific proof that essential oils can help in killing these bugs, most manufacturers claim that these oils can kill and repel the bugs. An important benefit of using essential oils is that they have a pleasant smell and don’t harm animals and humans. Also, they don’t damage the walls and furniture making them an ideal choice to fight these insects.

Isopropyl Alcohol

You can use Isopropyl alcohol to kill bed bugs by spraying it directly on the bugs. However, the alcohol cannot be used to repel the bugs or kill their eggs. Isopropyl alcohol can be used by people who are looking for natural remedy to kill a cluster of bugs. Isopropyl alcohol can be put in a bottle and sprayed directly on the bugs. You must avoid using Isopropyl alcohol in varnished surfaces as it can damage the area.

Mattress Covers

Even though mattress covers don’t kill these bugs, you use them with other natural methods to repel or kill the bugs. You can use zippered covers to seal off your bedding so bugs cannot get into the box spring and the mattress.
